I'm trying to envision this and i'm confused as to how you can move an entire wall w/o removing it first.

New furniture or appliances with short cords may require relocating a socket. It's a good idea to leave approximately 100mm of joists sticking out of the wall. However, moving a wall socket can present unseen difficulties. I've removed non load bearing walls with a sledge hammer and saws, but then the wall is demolished.
