I can't remember but it's like a control signal, all usb devices have it, it's part of the spec, not some proprietary ps3 scheme.

Steam actually has native support for the dualshock 3, meaning you can simply plug the controller in and set it up through the big picture mode controller settings menu. You can continue to play games and use the ps3 controller while it charges, but you will need to keep the controller plugged into the console via the usb cable to maintain a charge until the controller is fully charged. I want to charge my ps3 controllers (sixaxis) without having the ps3 running (because most of the time when it's running, i'm actually using the controllers).

Dec 20, 2016 · this could either be some library made for controllers or possibly i don't mind getting the input directly from the usb somehow and programming that myself. The ps3 controller won't charge through a wall charger. The ps3 controller tries to charge when you plug it in and the pi's usb ports don't provide enough power. When playing my ps3, there is a delay between the controller and screen.
